In July of 2005, a new article directory software was introduced to the marketplace.
Article Dashboard made a real splash!
They landed in the marketplace, just as article marketing was seriously starting to heat up. And, the one factor that really contributed to their meteoric rise was their price; it was FREE.
Several article directory software packages were available at that time at various prices.
When one took the time to compare the features of existing paid packages, with the features that were packed into Article Dashboard, Article Dashboard was often the hand's down winner.
As of the posting of this page, Article Dashboard was still FREE. You can download your own copy of the Article Dashboard software here.
The company behind the software continues to this day to make regular upgrades and improvements to the package. The owners say that for now the price is free, but that is a limited time offer. So, if you want a decent article directory software package, you need to get a copy while the getting is good.

One feature that Article Dashboard does not have built into the program is a search engine friendly sitemap... Shoot, they don't even have a non-search engine friendly sitemap.
We wanted one for our copy of the Article Dashboard software. So, we did what we always do when we want software that does not exist; we built one.

Consistent With Domain Templates - All levels of the page build (except the XML sitemap pages) are consistent with the page layout of every other web page on the website. The website's visitors can travel between ordinary pages on the site and the sitemap, and they cannot tell that the sitemap was built by a third-party.
Utilizes Standard Article Dashboard CSS - Any CSS coding that is currently installed in your
Article Dashboard website, can be utilized to customize your article directory sitemap.
Active Pages Only - Some sitemap samples I had looked at showed all Active and Pending articles in their sitemap. This sitemap displays ONLY Approved and Active article webpages.
FREE and PAID Versions - This add-on package is being offered in two formats. The FREE version allows you to install and use the software without cost, so long as you permit the three links that appear at the very end of the page to remain in the file unchanged. With the PAID version, you are allowed to remove the three links at the end of the sitemap, so long as you pay the
licensing fee.
